For students currently enrolled at Shenandoah University and receiving university scholarships, it is not necessary to reapply each year.
However, each scholarship may have academic or enrollment requirements in order for students to maintain eligibility for these funds. Most SU scholarship programs will require students to, at minimum:
- Maintain full-time enrollment each semester
- Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 (Presidential and Conservatory Scholarships require a GPA of 3.0)
- Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements as defined by the Office of Financial Aid
Some scholarship programs have additional requirements beyond those listed above. Conservatory Scholarship recipients should contact the Shenandoah Conservatory for further information regarding scholarship requirements.
Please contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have any questions or make any changes to your enrollment or degree program.
Eligibility for scholarships awarded by SU does not exceed four years (eight semesters).
Scholarships From Outside of Shenandoah University
Students are strongly encouraged to pursue scholarships from outside the university. Your home community and the Internet can be great potential sources for a scholarship. Also, do not stop applying for scholarships once you have been enrolled at Shenandoah University. Outside scholarship opportunities will continue to become available throughout your academic career.
Throughout the year outside organizations will send notification to The Office of Financial Aid regarding scholarship opportunities. Review available outside scholarship opportunities. We encourage all students to apply to all scholarships they are eligible for.
